Joint project by ALMEX, ESWE Verkehr, and Mainzer Verkehrsgesellschaft strengthens sales in local public transport<\/strong><\/p>

Almex GmbH has been awarded the contract by ESWE Verkehrsgesellschaft mbH from Wiesbaden and Mainzer Verkehrsgesellschaft mbH for the delivery and implementation of modern stationary ticket vending machines. The project comprises a total of 107 devices \u2013 60 for Wiesbaden and 47 for Mainz.<\/p>

With this joint procurement, the two transport companies are continuing their proven cooperation within the Mainz-Wiesbaden Transport Association (VMV) and modernizing their sales infrastructure. The machines currently in use date back to 2011 and were also procured jointly at that time. In light of increased requirements for user convenience, technology, and accessibility, a comprehensive renewal is now necessary.<\/p>

As part of the project, ALMEX is providing an integrated complete solution for two transport companies with fare products from the Rhine-Main Transport Association, the Rhine-Nahe Local Transport Association, and the Mainz-Wiesbaden Transport Association. In addition to the hardware, this also includes the hosting and operation of the software, ensuring reliable and future-proof operation.<\/p>

The new machines offer a contemporary, intuitive user interface that is oriented towards the expectations of modern digital applications and significantly simplifies ticket purchasing. Large 32-inch displays ensure a clear presentation and convenient user guidance. Passengers can purchase their tickets both cashless \u2013 including contactless payment \u2013 and in the traditional way with cash. All previous functions of the existing machines will be fully retained.<\/p>

A particular focus is on the consistent implementation of current accessibility requirements. The new devices comply with the requirements of the Accessibility Strengthening Act and enable the most barrier-free access possible for all passengers through ergonomic design, clear menu navigation, and supporting functions such as voice output and tactile elements. ESWE Verkehr and MVG are thus among the first transport companies to consistently implement the requirements of the Accessibility Strengthening Act.

The new devices make it easier for occasional customers in particular to access our services and make an important contribution to further reducing ticket sales on vehicles, thereby improving punctuality and operational stability. The joint procurement with Wiesbaden also shows how cooperation in public transport can be efficiently implemented and create synergies.”<\/p>

Marion Hebding, Managing Director of ESWE Verkehr:<\/strong> “With the new procurement of our ticket vending machines, we are creating a modern, user-friendly, and consistently accessible service in terms of accessibility, well-distributed throughout the city and thus close to the people. A total of 60 machines will be installed in Wiesbaden, with five existing locations being removed and five new ones added, which will optimize the sales network in a meaningful way.”<\/p>
